Dawni Pappas and Coleen Douglas are Instructors for the Redwood Rx program in Santa Cruz County. 

We invite you to come into the redwood forest with us and connect deeply with your heart and all your senses. Slow down, tune in, and come away renewed.

What is Redwood Rx?

Mountain Parks Foundation is partnering with California State Parks to provide a nature-based wellness program called Redwood Rx. Redwood Rx offers a variety of new opportunities to connect with nature and experience the health and wellness benefits of our Redwoods State Parks. Classes are offered from April to October.

(1) Grieving with the Redwood Forest

Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Boulder Creek

Sun. April 27, 2025   12-3pm    $45

Join us in this beloved redwood forest, where fire transformed the land and now invites us to transform with it. Let our grief become the seed of healing as we connect with Nature’s beauty, our inner nature and each other, rising anew in this resilient, welcoming place.

(2) Elder Explorers Redwood Experience 

Henry Cowell Old Growth Redwood Loop, Felton

Thurs. June 12, 2025   1-2:30pm   $30

Together, we’ll move at a relaxed pace, pausing to take in the magic of the redwood forest through light activities, hands-on exploration, and an interactive song inspired by Coleen’s love for the forest.

Your Nature Guides,
Dawni Pappas and Coleen Douglas

Program leaders Dawni Pappas and Coleen Douglas have been co-creating with nature and leading educational experiences for over 20 years. Dawni is a lifelong student of nature, educator, nature communicator, and author of the nature inspired book ABCs of Knowing URA Majikal Being. As a singer, Coleen knows the power of music to open hearts. She has a BA in biology and is an author, energy healer, and group facilitator.

Coleen’s recent book Nature Spirits Want to Talk With Us is a guide to deep connection with nature.

Coleen and Dawni are called to
